Boldre Homeopathic Practice

Homeopathy for women, children and babies

Sue

Sue Leach, homeopath &
allergy practitioner

I came to homeopathy 16 years ago when my daughter was nine months old. I had mastitis: right breast football hard, throbbing red and feverish. An NCT friend suggested homeopathic remedies, and a day later, having taken just two small pills, I was back in action… And intrigued. After a couple of years of using remedies (on cat and daughter) I went to see a homeopath, and the IBS-type symptoms and niggly cough I’d lived with for years disappeared. Since then homeopathy has navigated me through divorce, downsizing, a major career change and bringing up a child on my own for a while. I am proud to say that, at nearly 17, my daughter has never taken antibiotics, and I know homeopathy has helped keep all my new family on a level.

I graduated as a homeopath in 2004 from the College of Practical Homeopathy (www.college-of-practical-homeopathy.com) in London. There I was trained not only in classical homeopathy but also in methodologies that enable me to take a flexible, realistic approach to the types of illnesses that we encounter today and the quality of life we expect. I can work with you even if you are taking conventional drugs, and may also use herbs and flower essences.

For the past year I have been training with the British Institute for Allergy and Environmental Therapy (www.allergy.org.uk), which now enables me to both test for and treat allergies following a pain-free de-sensitising programme using homeopathic tinctures.

I am a member of the Society of Homeopaths (www.homeopathy-soh.org), the homeopathic regulatory organisation, which has a strict code of ethics and demands high standards of care and treatment. I also contribute to the work of the Guild, a pioneering group of homeopaths who are responsible for expanding our repertoire with new remedies specifically suited to the tough, complex demands of the 21st century.

Before training as a homeopath I was a freelance journalist and editor, specialising in women’s health and emotional issues. I continue to contribute articles to a number of publications and websites. Homeopathy transformed my life – and I know it could yours...

practice manager

I love my job because every day I learn something new about homeopathy! It’s a therapy of so many depths and dimensions, and the more I experience it the more I’m amazed at how beneficial it can be.

My interest dates back four generations. Nearly 100 years ago my great aunt was nursed back to health by Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital, having been told there was ‘no cure’ for her postnatal infection. As a consequence both my grandmother and mother chose homeopathy in preference to conventional medicine wherever possible, and I was taken to a GP who also used homeopathy. So I inherited a familiarity with remedies – which has blossomed with Sue’s generous sharing of her knowledge.

Boldre Homeopathic Practice has helped my family to cope with grief, hayfever and all sorts of day-to-day illnesses. It saw me, physically and emotionally, through major surgery on my knees (alongside conventional treatment); I recovered so well that the hospital staff called in their colleagues to look at my legs! And I’ve recently spotted my daughters reaching out for remedies and even offering them to friends.

Before joining Sue I was a primary school teacher, at one point running a nursery for children with special needs in London. With three daughters now beginning life as young adults, I understand the stresses, strains (and joys!) that family life brings.
